About the artist.
My name is Mink Illum Berg Wehtje and I am a 14 year old Swedish/Danish girl who has grown up in East Africa (Tanzania). living in Tanzania, I am constantly immersed in the vibrant beautiful culture that surrounds me. From a very early age on this has affected my ability to express myself through my art. By having the freedom to do so I now find myself being able to unlock parts of me that I wouldn't have been able to find without this creative vulnerability.
This portfolio serves as a window into my creative world, and I hope to inspire my viewers and the world around me through my art. Into either feeling liberty to create their own or liberty to sympathise with my creations.
Every one of my artworks starts with a tiny spark of a feeling or intrusive thought. Lately, my artworks look at exploring the feeling of "Unknown". My art dives into the overwhelming chaos we so many times think we are alone in.
Ms. Illum Berg Wehtje has, since she was very young, given attention that which happens around her. From insects and people, to shapes and colours, to light and shade. The ever metamorphosing I, yet determined, artist in her is rearing to go and grow and go again.
